Good evening

Just wanted to make a quick post about Prams and Pushchairs available in the UK. I am wondering if our fellow Europeans get and different models? If anyone has any good reference sites I could look at please let me know.

I am still drafting my next post regarding Prams from Toys R Us, I will get it uploaded tomorrow I promise.

I really enjoy writing about my experiences and advice relating to Prams Buggies and Push chairs.

Argos Prams Pushchairs and Buggies

Good afternoon everyone.

Just updating my blog today I want to take a look at Argos and the prams on offer via this retailer.

Argos is a basic catalogue style retailer in the UK, the shops are simple and straight forward. look in the book see what jumps out at you, order and collect. It is pretty difficult to test products in Argos before you buy so check them out elsewhere first! You can get amazing value but you need to make sure its what you want.

The website is clear and simple with good breakdowns in prams, pushchair and buggy sections.

I have just seen a very good value Mamas and Papas moonlight pushchair I was testing the other day. This is a great price!

Slightly off subject I love these children's toy prams made by silver cross these are so cute and such fantastic quality. Kids get such amazing toys these days.

My advice with Argos is you get great value but make sure the product is what you want as you can easily test them in store. They stock most big name brand products from

Just an update on my thoughts so far, I have as mentioned decided to focus on Prams! Now I have a whole load of Prams I have used and trialled over recent weeks to mention. I have decided to start with a supplier breakdown and my thoughts on the services offered in store and online at various retailers.

So to begin I will start with Mothercare, this is an institution for all things baby/toddler related! They stock a wide range of all baby/toddler care products. They have a huge range of prams both in store and online, I find the stores both practical and welcoming. All the branches I have visited have good baby changing facilities and toilets, this is essential whilst out shopping with the kids. The stores have a sensible flow and have prams pushchairs and buggies available to test drive. i often find after a quick push you know if it will work for you or not. Staff are always helpful and have a good knowledge level.

The website is easy to navigate and you can break you searches down into various sub categories easily. As I write this they have a 10% discount on most push chairs, buggies and prams before the 1st of June. Take a look at Pram results this is a good start point for the prams on offer via mothercare. The checkout process is secure and simple plus it gets delivered to your door. I am a fan of online ordering but often after testing things out in store!

As I write about more retailers I will include a bit detail on the prams, its always worth trying to pack the pram up and fit in your car while testing the product. Its a big expense and you want to make certain the product works for you. Does it suit your daily use, for example do you have enough storage for all your baby bags, shopping, toys etc. Are the accessories for the pram readily available such as rain covers, sun shields, sheets, blankets, storage, toys, etc. Are they affordable and going to be available for purchase during the lifespan of your pram. Something else to consider is future resale value of your pram, now I know if its your first pram chances are you wont want to part with it. But if you don't have the space or inclination its good to know you can get a good level of your spend back a few years down the line. The main brands differ on this greatly, EBay is a good reference tool for this task. As a rule the big name brands fair better than cheaper alternatives so your net spend after resale might not be as good as you think with a cheaper model.

This is something you are going to push around day after day week after week etc, it needs to feel right and look good. Is it going to deal with your local environment, do you have steep steps to deal with? Rough terrain or have to get it into a lift each and every day. We are going to have to put these up and down in all weather in daylight and the dark. Its a very personal thing a lot like a car purchase, take your time make a list of the key things you need. Something along the lines of size (storage space needed, lift access, car available), weight, wheel style/size (terrain/daily use requirements), design/colour (it needs to look good!), weather proof (good in wind, rain and sun), folding/unpacking, number of occupants (make sure you get enough room for all the little ones! Pushing one pram is easier than 3 :)) and lastly cost. We all have a budget to work within but as mentioned above what appears cheapest at the outset often isn't considering resale values and the length of time the prams last.
